GRoW- Greenhouse Robotic Worker
Metomotion is an Israeli company that has brought together robotics, mechanical design, and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop an autonomous robotic platform that can automatically harvest tomatoes grown in greenhouses, saving significantly on operational and labor costs. Having attracted funding from governmental and corporate sources in Israel and Europe, it plans to begin selling its products as early as this year.
GRoW is a multipurpose robotic system for labor-intensive tasks in greenhouses. Its first application is selective robotic harvesting of greenhouse tomatoes. I it is designed for a simple operation and smooth integration into existing greenhouse infrastructure and practices.
GRoW can be easily adapted to perform a range of greenhouse tasks, including harvesting of additional vegetables, pruning, monitoring, pollinating and more.
GRoW incorporates state-of-the-art robotics and automation technology:
• Advanced 3D vision system and machine vision algorithms to identify and locate the ripe fruits.
• Multiple, custom designed, robotic arms.
• Proprietary harvesting end-effector for robust damage free harvesting.
• Autonomous vehicle designed for seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Onboard boxing system.
